1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored in hashed form) when you register or sign in.
• Profile & preferences: language preference, favourites, and settings you configure.
• Creator / Publisher / Narrator details: where you onboard as a contributor, the identity, bank/payout, tax, and content-rights information you submit.
• Communications: messages you send to support, grievance, or contact channels.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Listening & usage activity: titles played, playback position, completion, bookmarks, and in-app interactions used to power resume, recommendations, and creator royalties.
• Device & technical data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and diagnostic logs.
• Cookies & local storage: used on the web app to keep you signed in and remember preferences.

1.3 Payment information

Payments are processed by our third-party payment partners — Razorpay (web and app) and the Google Play Store (app). We do not store your full card numbers, UPI credentials, or banking secrets on our servers. We retain transaction references, amounts, status, and the payment method used to operate subscriptions, purchases, refunds, and accounting.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To deliver, stream, and personalise audiobook content and remember your progress.
• To process subscriptions, one-time purchases, renewals, and refunds.
• To calculate and disburse creator, publisher, and narrator royalties and payouts.
• To provide customer support and respond to grievances.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, piracy, and security incidents.
• To send service notifications and, where permitted, product updates.
• To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in India.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Payment processors: Razorpay and Google to process and verify payments and manage subscriptions.
• Infrastructure & service providers: cloud hosting, storage, content delivery, analytics, and communication providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
• Creators / Publishers: aggregated, non-identifying engagement statistics used for royalty calculation and analytics.
• Legal & safety: where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sravyam, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, and thereafter for the periods required to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute resolution obligations. When no longer required, information is deleted or anonymised.

5. Data Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and DRM protections on audio content — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing. You can manage many details from your account settings, or contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

Paid subscriptions are intended for users who are at least 18 years of age. Individuals below the legal age of majority may use the Platform only under the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without such consent; if you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us for removal.

8. Third-Party Links & Services

The Platform may reference third-party services (such as the payment gateways and app stores noted above). Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
